The facility community Saltskogs Småhus
We follow Södertälje municipality's policy regarding snow removal.
A rule of thumb is that we clear snow when there is (at least) 4 cm of snow on footpaths and cycle paths or 6 cm of snow on local streets.
If the temperature is plus degrees and it is plus degrees at night and we judge that the snow can melt away, we will not plough.
Snow shoveling
Consider the accessibility of the area
All homeowners in the area are responsible for shoveling snow in front of their house.
Don't put the snow on the road hoping the plow will come. The snow may have time to freeze solid or be pushed down by a car etc. and freeze to ice. It can be very dangerous
The road must always be passable. Consider those who have difficulty walking, walkers, wheelchairs etc
When shoveling, you must place the snow where it cannot become a danger to others
Lace protection
Everyone should have lace protection on their roofs both to protect their own family but also that of the neighbours. Especially important when you have newer roof tiles that are slippery and where the snow comes down quickly in large quantities. As a property owner, you are responsible for possible lacerations from your own roof.
